JE's resolution #6: Living to the full

To live with all my might while I do live

This resolution seems to me to do more with our attitude toward what lies ahead for us on this earthly life. As life is made up of little steps on the way to the summit, one could take this resolution to mean something like "to live with all the physical strength I have while I do live". If so, does then the progress we make in our journey depend on our physical health? Or living with all our might includes doing works of righteousness with all the emotional and spiritual health possible? I take it to include those three aspects. And I can't think of an optimum in each of those areas. What I know is that should not back off from asking God to bless us with health but not for its own sake, I mean "because it's nice to feel healthy". Rather, health is a blessing to be used to advance God's purposes on earth for as long as we live here.

So, there is but one life. Live it to the full. Apply discernment to know what that means. Again, wisdom from above is key.

Finally, remember that if you are in Christ, you not only have this life, but also the next one to delight forever in an unknown yet glorious world to come together with Jesus who died for you that you might live for Him.

15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. (2 Cor 5:15)
